Letters and Messages

TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA, NICOLÁS MADURO.

Dear Nicolás:

I had the pleasure of listening to your speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

It was a brave and brilliant speech, measuring up to the lofty standards of our heroic President Hugo Chávez who, on that same spot, was able to uncover the empire’s diabolical policy that is threatening the life of our species.

After the UN meeting had concluded on that very same day, I also had the privilege  of seeing the emotional encounter you had in the Bronx with children, youth and adults who very proudly expressed their values and feelings in that area of New York City.  The pictures of those there, expressing what a people wants and deserves for their lives, are unforgettable and constitute a message of peace. The memory of Hugo Chávez was present every single second.

I am still overcome by such unforgettable memories and I send you a great hug that I hope you will share with your delegation and your valient people.
