- Conveying a communiqué informing the Cuban people of the attacks by US-made B-26 bombers against targets in Havana, San Antonio de los Baños and Santiago de Cuba. In the document, Fidel outlines that “if these air attacks is a prelude to an invasion, the country is ready to fight and will resolutely resist and destroy any force that tries to land in our country.”
