Chilean President to Cuba

Michelle Bachelet, President of the Republic of Chile, will start Tuesday an official visit to Cuba, on an invitation by her peer Raul Castro, Granma newspaper reports.

The distinguished visitor will travel accompanied by an extensive delegation comprised of ministers, senators, deputies, officials and business people from her country.

This visit will foster ties of friendship and cooperation existing between Cuba and Chile.

The Chilean president's agenda here will include official talks with statesman Raul Castro and attendance at the opening ceremony of 18th International Book Fair, dedicated this time to Chile.

Also on the list is visiting sites of economic, scientific, cultural and historic interest.
