Cuba reaffirms interest in strengthening relations with Canada

The Cuban government reiterated its commitment to continue strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation with its Canadian counterpart, as today celebrates the 79th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The fact was highlighted by the island’s Foreign Ministry on its X account, which details in other publications the good state of political ties and commercial ties.
Both nations maintain relations characterized by mutual respect and the constant search to expand joint business opportunities, especially in energy, mining and tourism. Likewise, in the political sphere, the Antillean government has recognized on several occasions the traditional support of its Canadian counterpart in the UN General Assembly in favor of lifting the US blockade of the island.
