Cuban Communists analyze the country's economic and social situation

Presided over by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Fifth Plenary Session of that political organization continues this Friday in Havana, which will last until tomorrow with a look at the core problems of Cuban society.
 
The meeting began with a minute of silence as a tribute to Major General Luis Alberto López-Callejas, member of the Political Bureau, and CC-PCC member, Brigadier General José Alberto Yanes Díaz, who died recently, and with an extensive revolutionary trajectory, proven dedication and devotion to the Homeland.
 
"We are mobilized by the faith in the victory bequeathed to us by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, synthesized by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz when he expressed: yes we could, yes we can and we always can!" expressed the Secretary of Organization of the PCC, Roberto Morales Ojeda in the report of the Political Bureau, which generated a wide-ranging debate.
 
The communists analyzed the agreements emanating from the II,III and IV plenary sessions, among them the progress of the East-West Transfer Project, the improvement of the work of the People's Power, the revitalization of the work strategies of the Federation of Cuban Women and the Union of Young Communists, in addition to sugarcane production.
 
The party meeting also ratified the importance of extolling the role played by workers in the electricity sector, while advocating to keep the population informed through the press and digital platforms and increase the communication campaign aimed at the rational use and saving of energy.
 
Another 11 topics were discussed, as well as an equal number of policies and draft legal provisions.
 
Commanders José Ramón Machado Ventura and Ramiro Valdés Menéndez attended the first day of the Fifth Plenary Session of the CC-PCC.
