Cubans residing in Latin America meet in Venezuela

The 6th Regional Meeting of Cubans residing in Latin America and the Caribbean will take place between June 16th and 18th under the motto "Building bridges for growth", and will address the blockade against Cuba.

Delegates from 16 countries will debate the actions undertaken in the last two years in defense of Cuba, its sovereignty and the tightening of the US blockade in the current circumstances. They will also reflect on social networks and mass media based on the Cuban nation, the dissemination of its history and its cultural values.

The event will also address the willingness to contribute and actively participate in the economic development of Cuba and the consolidation of the work of Cubans residing abroad within associations.

The meeting will take place in both face-to-face and online format. Cubans residing in Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bolivia, Argentina, Jamaica, Haiti and Ecuador will participate in it.

The event will have a final declaration and will present an action plan that will be used as a reference for the work of the associations in the region until 2025.

Sources from the organizing committee confirmed to Prensa Latina the presence at the Meeting of the members of the Buena Fe duo to discuss the media harassment suffered by Cuban artists, of which they were victims on their recent tour in Spain.

The 6th Regional Meeting has been organized by the Association of Cubans and Cubans Residing in Venezuela, a project that emerged from the idea of Fidel Castro (1926-2016), to work in the union of the nation and its emigration.
