Guatemala: Solidarity Meeting with Cuba

Guatemala, Aug 31 (Prensa Latina) The situation of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters known as The Cuban Five, now in prison in the US, will be the central topic of the first national meeting of solidarity with Cuba in Guatemala, scheduled for the next week in the Guatemalan capital.

  Organizers of the event confirmed the priority for those who will exchange opinions on September 11 and 12 , to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina Monday.

The main posters will present the images of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramón Labañino, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, with mottos and Stara.

The inauguration will be close to the Historical center with a political-cultural activity, and at the following day the delegates will be dedicated to their working tables with topics which will be informed later, and chats about the current Cuban reality.

At the end of the meeting there will be a march starting from the Auditorium of the University of Guatemala.

At the end of the demonstration, the delegates will make an anti-imperialist tribune to close the meeting.

Several organizations are supporting Cuba and the Cuban Five in Guatemala. Some of them are grouped in a coordinating office, but up to now, they have just made local activities in their different regions.
