Angolan Youth Decorates Fidel Castro
The National Youth Committee of the ruling Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (JMPLA) have posthumously decorated the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whose ashes will arrive in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba tomorrow.
During a solemn ceremony, Fidel Castro was awarded the Diploma of Merit of First Degree Commander Hoji Ya Henda, the highest distinction of the Party's youth organization.
The Secretary General of the JMPLA, Sergio Luther Rescova, handed over the document in recognition of Fidel's selfless efforts in the struggle for independence of Angola, where he played a decisive role, as well as his efforts to consolidate friendship and solidarity among the peoples of Cuba and Angola.
The recognition was received by the Cuban ambassador here, Gisela García, who reaffirmed the country's commitment to comply with the legacy of internationalism left by the statesman.
In addition, at 15:00 local time, the Institute of Health Higher Education Fidel Castro will pay tribute to the revolutionary leader.
On instructions from President José Eduardo Dos Santos, tomorrow in a public ceremony, the country's largest highway (Express way Cabulombo-Viana-Cacuaso) will be named Commander of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.
