Cuban Agroforestry Institute Expand Cooperation with Latin America

Cuba's Institute of Agroforestry Research (INAF) is expanding relations with Latin American academic institutions, its top executive, Humberto Garcia, said in Havana Wednesday on the center''s 50th anniversary.
 
We currently have students from the Autonomous University of Chapingo, Mexico, who are doing their internship at our Institute, Garcia told Prensa Latina.
 
We also, as part of our solidarity with the region, have relations with centers of higher learning in South American countries, such as Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil, to foster the agroforestry system in general in our nations', the Cuban official added.
 
During a meeting with national press media, the Head of INAF praised - among the main achievements of the five decades of the centre - the cooperation projects with countries in Europe, such as Spain and Italy, and Asia, such as Vietnam.
 
Team is working on the revitalization of Cuban coffee culture in the eastern municipality of Guisa, with the support of the Italian Agency for International Cooperation and Development, he announced.
 
We are also implementing the Coffee Development Program in Cuba and Vietnam, for the period 2016-2020, financed by the government of Vietnam, the world's second largest coffee producer, after Brazil, he stressed.
