South American and African presidents are debating, Saturday, the action plan of the second Summit between the two regions, a document that will pave the way towards integration, for a multipolar world.
For four days, the foreign ministers and other top officials from nearly 60 countries designed the project that the heads of State and government will improve today and tomorrow in Margarita Island.
According to the previous sessions, South Americans and Africans will foster future alliances in energy, trade, tourism, telecommunications, education, transport, health, science and technology, environment, culture, and sports.
Host President Hugo Chavez noted that the consolidation of such associations will encourage multilateralism in international relations, currently controlled by nations that prevent the rest from developing.
We are going to form two big centers of power in this multipolar world that is emerging already, where there will no longer be imperialism, he said upon arriving at Margarita Milton Hotel, headquarter of the summit.
According to Chavez, the second South America-Africa Summit will mark the emergence of a unity able to overcome poverty, hunger, and economic backward state.
