The Cuban teaching system stands as a model in front of millions of illiterates in Europe, violence with firearms at US schools, and exclusions from education system due to lack of financial resources.
For many people worldwide, some of them contrary to the social system on the island, full access of all Cubans to education is among the many achievements of the Revolution.
For over fifty years, Cuban classrooms have been filled with enthusiasm, happiness and knowledge. According to official estimates, over two million Cubans are attending the different education levels this year, free of charge.
There are schools even in the most remote places, and several of them even have only one student, but all are equipped the audiovisual means needed to support the learning process.
Convinced of the international prestige of the Cuban education system, a father proudly takes his child to school, or an elderly goes to the university for the Grown-up Adult.
But Cuba also takes education to other parts of the world when, according to UN figures, about 776 million adults lack the necessary means to develop reading, writing, and arithmetic.
