Cuba and Vietnam Ratify Socialism Continuity

The Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam reaseerted their commitment to keep going on the construction of socialism, under the principles of equality, balance and humanism.
A seminar by PCC and PCV was carried out Monday, in which Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdes highlighted the links between Vietnam and Cuba.
Vietnam and its leaders are examples of resistance to the imperial forces, hence their teachings are also part of our ideological arsenal, Valdes said.
Two countries despite the geographical distance have points in common, for example, fighting foreseen and unforeseen challenges and building a just, equitable and humane society, said the Cuban leader.
Today he emphasized Cuba maintains an ideology based on the ideas of Marxism-leninnism and leaders of the revolution, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro.
The Caribbean nation is experiencing a qualitatively higher stage when working on strengthening militancy and ethical values within the party and society, and strengthen ties between PCC and the masses, said Valdes.
Valdes also thanked the people and government of Vietnam for the support to Cuba in the struggle for ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States for more than half a century ago, as part of its plans to destroy the Revolution disregarding international law.
He also expressed gratitude for the position of Hanoi to demand the freedom of the three Cubans ubjustly imprisoned in US jails since 1998.
Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero and Ramón Labañino by Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez (internationally known as the Cuban Five), were arrested by US authorities because they were preventing violent terror acts organized in the there against Cuba by terrorist groups.
Of these 5, only René and Fernando have returned to Cuba after completing their full sentences, while the remaining three are still serving long sentences, despite the international campaign calling for their release and return to the island soon.
