Vietnam''s President Truong Tan Sang highlighted the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between his country and Cuba after receiving today here the general secretary of the island''s Workers Federation (CTC)(CTC), Ulises Guilarte.
Sang thanked the Caribbean island's support to the struggle for the Vietnamese independence and evoked the visit made by the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, in September 1973 in the central province of Quang Tri as one of the symbols of solidarity between the two nations.
He said Vietnam is ready to share with Cuba its 30-year experiences of renovation, included in the non-state union field.
Guilarte offered an information about the course of the updating of the Cuban economic model, the new investment law, and the strengthening of industrial zones.
The main CTC leader previously met with the president of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), Dang Noc, with whom he exchanged experiences.
In the meeting, Guilarte received the 75th-anniversary seal of the founding of the CTC granted to the VGCL.
