The book Asi es Fidel (Fidel Is Like This) was labelled as very useful and necessary by poet and essayist Roberto

At the presentation of the book Monday at the Reading History Festival, Retamar stressed that the testimonies of 145 people collected by Luis Baez, author of the book, show different features of the personality of leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The writer said one of the highlights of the book is that it gives the reader different perspectives of the "Commander in Chief," whom he described as the most important living statesman in the world.
The author of the book, journalist Luis Baez, thanked those who contributed with anecdotes to the book, most of whom attended the presentation of the material. Baez has published other works about Fidel Castro like El merito de estar vivo (The merit of being alive) and Absuelto por la historia (Absolved by History).
The editorial success of the launching of the book Así es Fidel, a few days before the 50th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, opened the doors of the Reading History Festival at the Pabellón Cuba.
Present at the launching ceremony were Julio Martinez, first secretary of the Cuban Young Communist League; Tubal Paez, president of the Union of Journalists; and Iroel Sanchez, head of the Cuban Book Institute.
Asi es Fidel, by the Editorial Abril publishing house, will also be launched in book stores of the capital cities of each Cuban province and will be available also at the International Book Fair in February 2009.
