Cape Verde's Prime Minister Jose Maria Pereira Neves learned about the energy revolution program implemented since 2005 in Cuba, as part of his official visit to the island.
The Cape Verdean premier toured with Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia a modern power generation plant, one of the 10 that is being assembled throughout the country.
With that operation, the island will increase its power generation capacity by over 4,800 megawatts, save fuel consumption and reduce environmental damage.
Pereira Neves' agenda here included talks with Cuban First Vicepresident Jose Machado Machado Ventura, in which the parties reviewed the course of bilateral relations.
The visitor also gave a magisterial lecture at the Aula Magna hall of the Havana University, on the country's socio-economic advances after independence in 1975.
The African leader expressed gratitude to Cuba for the training of diplomats, journalists, professors and other professionals and technicians of Cape Verde.
Also on the list was an honor ceremony for National Hero Jose Marti, independentist leader Amilcar Cabral, and those internationalist combatants fallen in other lands, recognizing their contribution to the liberation of Africa.
