Cuban Vice President Ramiro Valdes exhorted in the central Cuban province of Villa Clara to strengthen saving energy measures in the residential sector, Granma newspaper reported.
The also minister on informatics and communication said that all the people, through political and social organizations, should be involved in that task, the daily stated.
"We have to develop initiatives aimed at reducing consumption in all spheres during summertime, especially housing, where the country has the largest reserves of economics," the minister noted.
During a territorial meeting on the rational use of energy, Valdes talked about the need of stepping up inspections with the objective of detecting fraudulent facts, which should be faced severely.
Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia stressed the importance of hastening the production of mud devices for portable electric stoves and generates a considerable contribution to the campaign for the efficient use of energy resources.
