The Assembly of the Scientific- Technical Exchange Committee (STEC) of Japan reaffirmed its commitment to step up the collaboration and exchange links with Cuba during the evaluation of the work in 2014, was reported here today.
According to a press release of the Cuban embassy in Tokyo the Japanese chapter of STEC expressed its wish to deepen those links in the scientific-technical sphere in 2015.
During this meeting, the agency reshuffled its leadership, expressed the communique in which was announced the participation of the Cuban ambassador Marcos Rodriguez in those debates.
Addressing the audience, the diplomat expressed the commitment of Cuba to work in close coordination with the STEC, gave an update of the economic situation of his country and progress of the Special Economic Development Zone of Mariel.
Aspects of the new Investment Law and the newly introduced Opportunities Portfolio, sending a medical Cuban contingent to Africa to fight the Ebola virus and the current state of relations with Japan were also addressed by the Ambassador.
After his speech, STEC members raised questions about the topics discussed and confirmed their willingness to maintain a growing scientific and technical exchange with Cuban institutions and disseminate China's progress in these branches of knowledge.
