Russian MPs Condemn US Blockade Against Cuba
The Russian Duma (Lower chamber) approved to make a call to the United Nations demanding the end of the US blockade against Cuba and to send humanitarian aid after the battering of hurricanes Gustav and Ike to the Caribbean nation.

The Russian Duma (Lower chamber) approved to make a call to the United Nations demanding the end of the US blockade against Cuba and to send humanitarian aid after the battering of hurricanes Gustav and Ike to the Caribbean nation.
The resolution was approved by 439 votes, which represent a 97.6 percent acceptance, with one abstention, and no votes against, reported Granma newspaper.
The proposal, introduced by Iván Melnikov, Vice-President of the Russian Federation Communist Party , and backed by Yuli Kvitsinski, a deputy from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Melnikov recalled that next October 29 the UN General Assembly will vote on a resolution named "The Need to End the Economic, Trade and Financial US Blockade against Cuba"

September.
