Lucius Walter: The US Blockade of Cuba Is Still a Reality
The leader of the US Inter-religious Foundation Pastors for Peace, the Reverend Lucius Walker, said on Monday that "the US blockade is still a reality, the Cuban Five remain in prison and US citizens are still denied their right to travel to Cuba".

The leader of the US Inter-religious Foundation Pastors for Peace, the Reverend Lucius Walker, said on Monday that "the US blockade is still a reality, the Cuban Five remain in prison and US citizens are still denied their right to travel to Cuba".
The religious leader, who heads the 20th US-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan, whose members are currently visiting places of social and historic interest in Cuba, added that "the Obama Administration continues to be the administration of the evil forces in the United States."
In an interview published on Tuesday by Granma newspaper, Walker affirmed that "even though we are hoping for some positive changes, we are aware that, so far, the US policies towards Cuba have not changed."
The leader of Pastors for Peace noted that, regardless of who is in charge at the White House, the American people have to play a key role in any transformation in this respect. "We have to keep the pressure on the Obama Administration," he stressed. "We are convinced that they will not make any changes of their own volition.
That is why we have to continue working, because we can not assume that Obama is going to do it spontaneously," Walker added. He recalled that the best example of this is perhaps the US-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan because, after resorting to violence to obstruct it in previous years, the US authorities have had to reduce their hostility.
"Our struggle and our determination to demand changes in spite of prison threats led us to these achievements," the Reverend concluded.
