The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) rejected today the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against Cuba, and highlighted the historic ties between the two nations.
"The unjust, illegal and inhuman blockade the U.S. remains stubbornly against the Cuban people has not only been rejected by the PCV and our people, but also the world," Politburo member of the organization, Carlos Aquino, told Prensa Latina.
The complaint to the interventionist policy "has been expressed for over two decades in voting at the U.N. General Assembly and in many mobilizations and solidarity actions," he said.
Aquino noted that in this fight, "the Cuban people have the support of justice and dignity."
"So, we send greetings and recognition from the PCV to the heroic Cuban people, government and party, and new generations who continue building that hope, that lamp of freedom that is the Cuban Revolution", the party leader said.
On November 13, Cuba will raise voice once again along with the people and governments of the world to demand an end to the interventionist measure that lasts over 50 years and has caused human and economic damage up to 2011 of more than 1.066 trillion dollars, Aquino added.
