uring the opening of the first International Radio and Television Festival, Diaz-Canel highlighted the role media has played in this fight against banality and consumerism, to prioritize human beings instead.
The vice president acknowledged that the radio and television in Cuba lack of large funds, but guarantee contents of public service that offers the idea of making a better world with the contribution of the media.
He said that national radio and television directors are active people, and Cuba encourages the critical capacity, more with new technologies to allow audience regulate what they produce.
This event has abundant opportunities for reflection and exchange on the ways of audiovisual presentations.
Participants also seek to include the practices of other technologically advanced countries, to learn to compete and pave the way with the new resources and working projects.
After starting yesterday the expo-fair parallel to the festival, the theoretical event begins today with panels on integration, culture, and identity, with special guests.
About 43 foreign companies, different Cuban companies, and 16 stands showing domestic products and others from China, Vietnam, Spain, and Canada, are being exhibited at the Conference Center in Havana.
