World Poets Return to Cuba''s Poetry Event
Cuba will host poets from around the world for the third consecutive time, from Apr. 30 to May 9, as part of the event La Isla en Verso (Island in verses) that has been convened by the Casa de Iberoamerica cultural institution since 2012.

Cuba will host poets from around the world for the third consecutive time, from Apr. 30 to May 9, as part of the event La Isla en Verso (Island in verses) that has been convened by the Casa de Iberoamerica cultural institution since 2012.
With the distinction of promoting the exchange between foreign and local artists, the travel will start in Havana and then will continue trough the central city of Cienfuegos, the eastern province of Ciego de Ávila and Holguín (Northeast), venue of the institution sponsoring the meeting.
After completing their tour across the country, especially by the poetic cities, the caravan will be able to capture its memories in a volume whose publication will be carried out by publishing houses La Luz and Apostrophes Ediciones.
The program of the event, which is co-sponsored by the Hermanos Saiz Association and the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, includes poetry readings, paper presentations, meetings with publishers and visits to sites of historical and cultural interest.
The Casa de Iberoamerica (House of Latin America) is an institution that promotes academic, artistic and cultural exchange through numerous events including the May Festival and the World Artistic Youth Festival.
