German Sailing Vessel will Explore Cuba
More than twenty German students will arrive to this city on Wednesday aboard the school sailing vessel Johan Smidt, as part of the exploratory trip of that ship through Cuba.

More than twenty German students will arrive to this city on Wednesday aboard the school sailing vessel Johan Smidt, as part of the exploratory trip of that ship through Cuba.
The crew will visit Pinar del Rio´s capital after their arrival to Havana, said officials from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP).
This is the second German ship with those characteristics that anchor this year in Cuban coasts, preceded by Thor Heyerdahl, said to Prensa Latina Hanoi Diaz, ICAP´s official.
According to the specialist members of that educative project will be welcomed by students from the Vocational-Exact Science High School Federico Engels who will share with them topics related to history and traditions of the Caribbean country, its music and dances.
The German students, who combine sailor tasks with theoretical sessions on board, will also receive Spanish, Biology and Geography lessons, among others, said Diaz.
During their staying in Pinar del Rio, they will visit Viñales Valley, World Cultural heritage, to Santo Tomas cave, among the biggest in Latin America and to the Memorial to The Malagones, legendary Cuban militia men.
The visitors will stay in Pinar del Rio until March 10th.
The Johan Schmidt docked at Havana Port last Saturday, while the Thor Heyerddahl did it on Corrientes Bay, west Cuba, on February 2nd.
