The migratory talks between Cuba and the United States were described as constructive today despite the fact that the Cuban Adjustment Act and "wet foot/dry foot" policy remained unchanged.

The director general for the United States in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Josefina Vidal, stated at a press conference that these regulations are contrary to the letter of migratory agreements.

She believed that the permanence of the "wet foot/dry foot" policy and the Cuban Adjustment Act ' is still the the major stimulus to illegal migration, migrant trafficking and the illegal entry of Cuban citizens into the United States from third countries'.
