He departs by air together with Gustavo Arcos from Mexico City to San José, Costa Rica, in order to meet the small group of Cuban exiles who have stayed there, including Moncada’s assailants José Ramón Martínez Álvarez, José Ramón Ponce Díaz, and Jaime Costa Chávez, and to make arrangements with some personalities of the Central American country who could collaborate with the insurrectional plans.
