- First meeting in Viñales with Leandro Rodríguez Malagón, whom Fidel instructed to set up an agricultural workers’ militia (that would later be known as the “Malagones”) for the search and seizure of Corporal Lara, head of a counterrevolutionary insurgent gang in Sierra de los Órganos, Pinar del Río province.
