- Takes part in the people`s tribute in the vicinity of the Castillo de la Punta, honouring the memory of Commander Camilo Cienfuegos, on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance.
- At the Hotel Nacional he greets the French writers Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, accompanying them to the José Martí International Airport from which the French intellectuals were leaving to return to France after their second visit to Cuba, as guests of the Revolutionary Government.
