In response to letters from emigrants in New York, he wrote a lengthy letter to Angel Pérez Vidal of the Cuban Civic Movement. In the letter, he recalls the fighting spirit of the emigrants’ clubs during the struggles of 1868 and 1895. He also denounces the unscrupulous politicians who, with their dishonest and betraying policies, are working in Cuba to replace one dictatorship with another by men without scruples or moral.
