  • Visit to various official departments and the José Martí Monument in the Civic Square (today the José Martí Revolution Square to study how to position the speakers’ podium for the peasant rally on July 26th in Havana. Visit to the National Library building.
  • At the José Martí Airport, he receives Raúl Roa, Minister of State and the Cuban Delegate to the OAS recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
  • During the night, he steps down from his position as Prime Minister, citing the attitude of President Manuel Urrutia in setting up obstacles to the passing of the laws and measures of the revolutionary government.

  • Inauguration of Fidel Castro as “Great Warrior Chief” of the Cree Indian Tribe.
  • Attending the closing ceremony of the 10th Textile Industry Workers’ Congress held at the Sports City. He was welcomed by the crowd crying out: “No resignation!” The amount of 220 thousand pesos was handed over to him for the Agrarian Reform. Fidel gave a radio and television broadcast speech in which he stated: “For me, the Revolution is not about the position… When we started it, we held no position whatsoever.”
  • Fidel is received in Ciudad Deportiva by a large crowd of textile industry workers shouting “Don’t step down!” at the rally organized by the CTC. 220,000 pesos for the Agrarian Reform are delivered to him. He speaks on radio and TV.
  • He attends Havana Cathedral for a Mass for those who died on July 26, 1953.  The auxiliary Bishop of Havana, Monsignor Evelio Díaz officiates.
  • Fidel makes a speech at the huge gathering of peasants held in the Civic Square in Havana, in commemoration of the date and in support of Agrarian Reform. At this event, he once again takes on the position of Prime Minister. Lázaro Cárdenas accompanies him at the podium.
  • He gives a Press Conference at the Havana Hilton Hotel with the presence of the foreign press visiting Cuba for the July 26th rally.
  • Fidel attends and gives the closing speech at the final ceremony of the Congress of Secondary Education Students.
  • Fidel delivers the final address at the ceremony commemorating the martyrs of the Revolution, in Santiago de Cuba.
  • Fidel gives the welcome speech for the delegates of the Cyclo Therapy Company at the Tenth Annual Convention held by that industrial organization in Cotorro, Cuba.
