Cuban researchers will exchange on April 9-10 about the work of the Cuban independence leader Jose Marti during the annual event from Guaimaro to Playita, Master in Sciences Olga Hidalgo stated today.
The executive secretary of the Jose Marti Cultural Society in Camaguey told Prensa Latina that the event will be dedicated this year to the 145th anniversary of the Guaimaro Assembly, where the first Constituent Assembly of the Republic of Cuba in Arms was signed.
She said the event will also pay tribute to Cuban teacher Enrique Jose Varona and poet Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda, one of the forerunner of novel in Spanish America, in the 19th century, on occasion of the 165th anniversary of their anniversaries, respectively.
The meeting, to be held in Guaimaro, some 630 kilometers east of Havana, includes a pre-event course with a panel comprised of renowned researchers of Marti's works.
