Belarus' Working Group of the National Assembly for Cooperation with the Cuban Parliament condemned on Friday the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
A letter sent by that parliamentary group to the Cuban embassy in this capital considers that the US blockade against Cuba prevents the implementation of socioeconomic transformations and reduces the country's ability to expand trade.
'We note with alarm that Cuba still suffers the aftermaths of destructive decisions that not only cause colossal economic and financial losses, but also threaten the safety of its citizens,' the MPs say.
'We will continue with the show of solidarity with the Cuban people and with the work to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties, develop cooperation and friendly relations with Cuba,' the document points out.
The legislators express their gratitude to Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel for the support and solidarity with the Belarusian people, expressed at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, the press release stressed.
Furthermore, the Working Group condemns the attack with firearms against the Cuban diplomatic mission in Washington, perpetrated in April, 2020.
