Bolivian President, FM to Attend Ibero-Am Summit

Bolivian Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca will attend the 21th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in Asuncion, Paraguay, according to a diplomatic note.
As of today, Choquehuanca will join his counterparts to discuss an agenda on specific topics prior to the meeting of Presidents to which President Evo Morales confirmed his attendance.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to include speeches by Ibero-American Secretary General Enrique Iglesias, President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez and the host, President Fernando Lugo.
The summit will be in session at the Conference Room of the South American Soccer Confederation in the city of Luque, near Asuncion, under the slogan State Transformation and Development.
The meeting is expected to agree on alternatives to face international financial crisis and its main objective is to approve a Final Declaration on issues of common interest.
According to the program, the Pro Tempore Secretariat will be handed over to Madrid on Saturday afternoon, and the closing speech will be given by King Juan Carlos of Spain.
