Bolivian President Evo Morales confirmed today he would attend the mass rally planned for Saturday at the Antonio Maceo square in Santiago de Cuba, to honor the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro.
Raul (Castro, the president) told me to accompany him to the farewell ceremony to Fidel and I cannot refuse that invitation, said Morales when opening the 2nd World Summit of Anti-Imperialist Youths that is being hosted by Villa Tunari, in the central department of Cochabamba.
I ask you, please, to write a farewell letter to Fidel among all the participants in this event and there, 9in the rally, I promise to read it.
That is my promise, said the president amid a huge ovation by the delegates to the forum.
The Bolivian president participated, on November 29, together with 20 heads of State and Government, at the posthumous homage at Jose Marti Square of the Revolution in Havana.
I come on behalf of the Bolivian people (...) to express our respect, our love, our admiration and above all, our acknowledgment to the Cuban people, their Government, to Fidel, for so much solidarity, not obnlty to Bolivia, but also to the countries in the world, said Morales in his speech.
For December 3, they have planned a mass rally in Santiago de Cuba, well-known as the Hero City, to pay homage to the leader of the revolution.
