The launch of the book "El Traductor de Suajili" (The Translator of Swahili) by Freddy Ilanga, was a dream come true for the ex combatant of the Congolese Liberation Movement, as stressed on Saturday during the 24th Havana Book Fair.
The book contains important moments in Ilanga's life before arriving in Cuba, where graduated as a pediatric brain surgeon, his son, Yaile Ilanga, told Prensa Latina.
It is a great pleasure for me that the Abril publishing house has opened its doors so that his history does not remain shelved and the new generations can learn how Ernesto Che Guevara influenced on the transformation of his thinking.
The book is a testimony on Ilanga's life expressed in more than 200 pages, with pictures and maps of the location of the camp where he lived besides Che.
Ilanga's son expressed his emotion on the way Aleida Guevara referred to his father, who passed away on November 19, 2005, during the launch of the book at the Havanas ALBA House, in the presence of the African diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba.
