Cuban Dianellys Montejo won a bronze medal in the women’s 49-kilo division of the taekwondo Olympic tournament that began on Wednesday.
Montejo, who lost in her first bout to Buttree Puedong of Thailand, beat Vietnamese Thi Ngoc Truc Tran 4-0 and Taiwanese Yang Shu-Chun 3-2 in the bronze medal bout.
The title of the division was for Chinese Wu Jingyu who beat Puedong in the finale.
The other bronze medal was for Venezuelan Dalia Contreras, who gave her country the first medal in these Olympic Games.
