Cape Verdean Prime Minister Jose Maria Pereira Neves are to continue Thursday his meetings with Cuban Government and State authorities, as part of his official visit to the island.
Pereira Neves arrived in this capital Monday and will develop an extensive agenda until January 18, to foster bilateral relations.
A magisterial lecture at the Havana University, in which he spoke on his country’s socio-economic progress, marked Wednesday's agenda of the Cape Verdean leader.
Before an academic and diplomatic auditorium, the visitor said that the aim is to build a more open country to the world, a sustainable and competitive economy, based on a services system, without disregarding industrial development.
Among Pereira Neves' activities are the homage to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti and independentist leader Amilcar Cabral, as well as the internationalist combatants fallen in defense of the liberation of Africa.
Previously, he was welcomed by Cuban First Vicepresident Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, to analyze the state of the ties of friendship and cooperation.
Cuba and Cape Verde established diplomatic relations on September 5, 1975, and nearly 52 collaborators of the island are currently working in the African sister nation
