Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic will begin an official visit to Cuba on an invitation by his peer Raul Castro, to expand links between Havana and Zagreb.
The agenda of the Croatian president, 76, includes meeting with Raul Castro and attending the Fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for the Economic, Trade and Scientific-Technical Collaboration between both countries.
The visitor will also visit sites of historic and social interest, among them the Latin American School of Medicine, where about 10,000 students from 24 countries are studying.
