Cuba and Chile will Tighten Cultural Links

Cuban and Chilean authorities will sign an agreement for academic, artistic and cultural cooperation ans a memorandum of understanding on September 13-14, a diplomatic source from the South American country announced.
 
Chilean Ambassador to Cuba Ricardo Herrera reported in a press conference that his country's Culture Minister Ernesto Ottone would arrive in this capital to meet with the rector of the Cuban University of Arts, Alexis Seijo.
 
As part of the meeting, Seijo will sign a Specific Agreement for Academic, Artistic and Cultural Cooperation with the dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, Clara Luz Cardenas, between their respective institutions.
 
That day, Ottone will hold a meeting with the president of the Cuban Institute of Arts and Cinematographic Industry, Roberto Smith, to return to the entity the restored original film 'Alsino y El Condor' (Alsino and the Condor) by prestigious Chilean filmmaker Miguel Littin.
 
The minister will also present at the Cuban Cinematheque a cycle of Chjilelan cinema that will begin on September 13, showing the documentary film 'La Colorina,' by filmmaker Fernando Guzzoni.
 
The following day, Ottone will sing a Memorandum of Understanding between that ministry and the Chilean national Council of Culture and Arts, with Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto.
