Cuba Appoints New Ambassador to Venezuela

Rogelio Polanco has been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Over the last five years, Polanco has fulfilled important missions linked to the Bolivarian Revolution. At the moment of his designation, he was holding the position of director of the Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

A graduate in Political International Relations, he represented Cuba at the International Students Union (UIE), he was the head of the Department of International Relations of the Young Communists’ League. At present, he’s a member of the National Assembly of the People’s Power
(Parliament), the Granma newspaper reports.

Germán Sánchez Otero, who for 15 years carried out an outstanding work while in charge of the Cuban diplomatic mission in that South American nation, will be assigned other tasks.
