Cuba and the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul on Thursday signed an agreement for future cooperation in agriculture production and research, local media reported.
The document was inked in the Cuban capital of Havana during a visit to the Caribbean nation by representatives from institutions of the Brazilian state related to the field of agribusiness.
The agreement aims to promote the exchange of experience, transfer of technologies, equipments and inputs to boost agricultural yields.

Earlier, the visiting delegation toured several research centers in the capital and the province of Matanzas, where they evaluated possible areas for cooperation and exchanged views with leading producers in those territories.
Andreia Sá Brito, advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Agribusiness, of Rio Grande do Sul, said she was impressed with Cuba's progress in terms of agroecology.
