The Pedro Kouri Molecular Biology Lab has confirmed the seventh Influenza A (H1N1) case in Cuba, according to an official note Granma daily published Saturday.
The patient is a 12-year-old Cuban girl residing in Las Vegas, US, who arrived in the country on June 8, when she began having flu symptoms and fever.
The next day she was taken to a policlinic and it was decided to hospitalize her for further study and treatment.
The girl is progressing well, and Cuban health authorities are carrying out the corresponding research with people who had contact with her, who so far are asymptomatic, the note affirms.
The document once again calls upon the population to follow the preventive measures, and immediately go to health centers in the case of fever or respiratory problems.
