Cuba, Congo for Reinforcing Relations

Congos National Defense Minister Charles Richard Mondjo expressed interest to reinforce relations with Cuba, especially between the two armies, Granma newspaper reports today.
 
The also division general was welcomed yesterday during an official ceremony, and laid a wreath at the monument to Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo and his assistant Captain Francisco Gomez Toro, a place erected to pay tribute every year to those fallen in internationalist missions.
 
Mondijo stressed Cubas solidarity and support in the struggle for the liberation against colonial regimes in Africa.
 
During his official visit to the island, the minister will tour sites of historic, cultural and educational interest, among other activities.
 
Congos President Denis Sassou-Nguesso visited Cuba early December, on occasion of the celebration for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between his country and the Caribbean island, Granma concluded.
