According to experts, the planet will reach seven billion inhabitants in October and 10 billion by 2083.
This growth trend contrasts with Cuba, where the population, now a little over 11 million, will fall into 7.6 million.
Experts such as Dr. Juan Carlos Alfonso, director of the Center for Population and Development Studies at the National Statistics Office, talked about the importance of creating a national demographic observatory.
Participants in the forum stated that investing in youth and ensuring they are part of the present is a way to strengthen prospects for the future.
