Cuba''s Agro-Industrial Food Fair, FIAGROP 2014, begins today here, with the opening of a tradeshow exhibit where products, supplies, and companies from some 16 countries will be on display.
 
The program for the event also includes a livestock fair with rodeo, auction, and livestock evaluations, along with specialized lectures.
 
"This is a fair that integrates the agricultural, sugar sectors and food industry," said Adolfo Aroche, general director of Rancho Boyeros exhibition center.
 
The trade fair covers four pavillions in a 903 square meter area, as well as a 1,600 square meter open space, where machinery, equipment and new technologies will be exhibited.
 
The event, to run until March 23, began yesterday, March 15, with rodeo competition and livestock evaluations, and today, in addition of the opening of the trade fair, many specialized technical lectures are on the agenda, among them a round table dedicated to the challenges of cattle raising.
