The researchers Cecilia González Pedroso, Braulio Pastor Lapinel and Tomás Gutiérrez Pérez received the Meteorology National Award 2009 for their praiseworthy scientific and teaching work.
The specialist Maritza Ballester received the Benito Viñes Prize to her study of variability in cyclonic activity in Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.
Benito Viñes Prize's junior version was awarded to Yoandy Alonso Diaz for his study of parameter model to analyze tropical storms.
