Cuban Fist Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura participated on Tuesday in the opening day of the High Level Meeting of the 63rd Period of Sessions of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The agenda of the Cuban official on Tuesday included bilateral meetings with the presidents of Paraguay, Fernando Lugo; Cyprus, Dimitris Christofias; and the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmud Abbas.
According to Granma news daily, Machado Ventura, who heads the Cuban delegation to the UN meeting, also met with the prime ministers of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal; and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves.
In addition, the Cuban high-ranking official held a bilateral meeting with the Vietnamese Foreign Minister, Pham Gia Khien.
The 63rd Period of Sessions of the UN General Assembly continues on Wednesday, when Cuban First VP Jose Ramon Machado Ventura is scheduled to address participants.
