Cuba to Present Tourist Options in Spain Expovacaciones Fair

Cuba will participate in the eighth edition of the Expovacaciones Fair 2014, from May 9 to 11 in Barakaldo, Basque Country, where it will display its tourism developments, new facilities and services.

In addition to the autonomous communities of Spain, 14 countries will attend the fair with representatives of travel agencies, wholesalers, transportation companies, government agencies, hotels and media, among others.

This year the Cuban presence in Expovacaciones responds, among other objectives, to the interest in strengthening ties with the operators and agencies in the region, said a note from the Cuban office of Tourism in Spain.

Along with the sun and beach destinations, main Cuban tourism product will be exposed other aspects of nature and architectural heritage, with the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of three of its villas: Trinidad, Camaguey and Sancti Spiritus.

Participants will also have the opportunity to be updated on the offers of the cities of Havana, Varadero, Holguin, Santiago de Cuba and North keys of Villa Clara and Ciego de Ávila, main regions of interest for the Spanish market.

Cuban delegates will also offer details about the meeting Fotosub Underwater Photography 2014 to be held in Key Largo from May 14 to 18 and the International Needle Fishing Tournament Ernest Hemingway in June at the marina of the same name, west of Havana.

The Cuban representation, chaired by the official for Tourism of the Embassy of the country in Spain, Dulce María Sánchez, includes the Guama tour operator that will provide information on its new 2014 products catalog and offers for summer.
