The second and last shipment of wildlife animals donated by Namibia arrives today in Cuba, with five African elephants, equal numbers of white rhinos and many other blacks.
According to Granma newspaper, thus is completed the Noah Ark II operation, which first delivery arrived at International Airport José Martí in Havana on November 16 last year.
Granma highlights the presence for the first time in Cuba of a male elephant, "which opens the door to the possibility of the old dream of captive breeding of this species".
As the animals received in 2012, this new 15 specimens will begin a process of quarantine before public display at the National Zoo, located in this capital.
Because the animals were removed from their natural habitat, this period may take several months before they get used to human presence, noise and coexistence with other species in semi-liberty, says the newspaper.
