The Cuban foreign minister thanked South Africa for its firm expressions of support for Cuba and acknowledged the positive role of that African nation in international affairs, especially its performance as a member of the United Nations Security Council.
Perez Roque hailed South Africa's stance in defense of international law and the charter of the United Nations and its active work within the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM).
The South African Foreign Minister conveyed greetings from President Thabo Mbeki to Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Head of State Raul Castro.She thanked Cuban authorities for their support in the organization on the island of a regional meeting of South African ambassadors and higher commissioners to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Likewise, Dlamini Zumaa applauded Cuba's work as NAM's chair and noted that the visit to Cuba will give her the opportunity to exchange opinions on continental and national issues.
The bilateral links have reached a very healthy state, but there are still many things we can do, said the South African official.
