Cuban ambassador to Japan, Marcos Rodriguez, gave a lecture about the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), at a seminar held in Nagano, it was reported today.
According to the press release from the Cuban embassy, the lecture took place at that Japanese prefecture during a meeting with the issue "Peace has to be the global trend," organized by the Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The ambassador discussed the fundamental aspects of the establishment of CELAC, and the summit of the organization held in Havana in January this year, where Latin American and the Caribbean were declared as peace zone region.
Outstanding academician Michihiro Sindo, director of the Study Institute on Asia and Africa of Japan and an expert on modern history of Latin America, gave a keynote speech on the Association of South East Asian Nations and efforts for regional peace.
